Increasing Participation - priorities for future revenue investment
Consultation Period 27th April - 19th June 2009
Sport Northern Ireland is committed to delivering opportunities within communities for increasing sustained participation amongst those currently under represented in sport and physical recreation.
The need for this work is emphasised within 'Sport Matters' - the ten year Northern Ireland Strategy for Sport and Physical Recreation which will provide a lasting and sustainable legacy for future generations. In doing so, 'Sport Matters' identifies 26 high level targets and sets the key strategic priorities for sport and physical recreation which will inform future investment by all stakeholders across the public, private and community/voluntary sectors.
SNI is committed to the development of 'intelligent participation initiatives' and will work with partners to achieve the targets outlined within 'Sport Matters'.
This consultation process recognises the strategic role of SNI and empowers other stakeholders to identify and address local need. The consultation reflects the strategic context of sport in Northern Ireland, not least in relation to 'Sport Matters' and the Review of Public Administration. The consultation questions are designed to test responses to our over-arching proposal for increasing sustained participation in sport and physical recreation.
The online survey should be completed in conjunction with the Consultation Guidance Note available to download below or by e-mail request to annelowden@sportni.net or telephone 028 9038 3880.
