Participate in the Northern Ireland Hospice Walk

Local celebs Paul Clark, May McFetridge and Olivia Nash urge folk to join in the Northern Ireland Hospice Big Walk Week which takes place in several venues throughout Northern Ireland from  Saturday 28th March to Saturday 4th April, to raise much needed funds for this local charity.

Paul Clark, President of NI Hospice, knows only too well how much NI Hospice depends upon events like this and the money they raise.  “Last year we helped more people than ever before, with over 3200 adults, children and young people receiving hospice care.  With an increasing demand for our services, we want to do even more this year but we can’t do it without the support of local people for events like the Big Walk Week. Last year this event raised the tremendous sum of £180,000. This is a significant contribution to our overall running costs and really does help”

The three biggest walks take place on Saturday 28th March in Carrickfergus, North Down Coastal Path and Lagan Tow Path.  All start at 10.00am and with 500 expected at each venue there’s sure to be plenty of craic.

With other walks talking place at various venues throughout Big Walk Week, and routes varying 2-10 miles there’s bound to be something to suit you, no matter where you live and whatever your fitness level. ‘ So c’mon, Get your boots on and join the other 3.000 hospice walkers all raising money for this very worthwhile local charity.
